Foodies’ comments:

Tashi-delek (Hello)

Om Restaurant & Bar is a hidden gem in Parkdale, serving authentic Indian and Tibetan food. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (except Monday), the restaurant serves set lunch ($6) with one vegetarian item and one non-vegetarian item (chicken or beef) along with steamed basmati rice and salad. The Foodies had Aloo Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes cooked in aromatic spices) and Chicken Vindaloo (chicken simmered with potato in a tangy Vindaloo sauce) the other day. The spices used were perfect and no one spice overwhelmed anything else. The basmati rice was cooked to perfection. The Foodies also learned how to say thank you in Tibetan – Tujay-chay.
